Why Cry When Angels Deserve to Die, Part 1

By Chelsea Houston (angelofdeath17@hotmail.com)

Pairing:
Rosiel and Katan
Rosiel and Alexiel
Lucifer and Alexiel
Lucifer and Kira

Note: This Fiction is probably NOT 100% accurate, seeing how all I know about Angel Sanctuary, is the small bits I understood from the OAV's, I have NOT read any of the Manga, despite the fact I want to, I cannot yet understand Japanese text, whatever. So if I have made any wrong assumptions, forgive them and just enjoy what I have put together. The time line is very confusing, it changes a lot, so make sure you know what's going on, that is all. Angel of Death

PART I...

"No." Alexiel was angry, she grew frustrated with Rosiel's constant pleading. She turned away and walked towards a near by tree, shading her from the strong white sunshine. Rosiel followed.

"Why not sister?" He nagged, his tone whinny, and needy, yet he too had a tone of frustration. Despite the fact he was becoming annoyed that his sister who couldn't see things from his point of view, he still didn't hate her.

He admired her beauty, he always made sure he looked similar to her. Today, both of them had tied back hair, loose and messy pony tales, that they're massive curls could not be neatly confined in. Alexiel wore a white dress, sleeveless, and long at one side, lifting higher at her other leg. Rosiel wore a black leather jacket, similar to a very tight and girlish trench coat, followed up by loose leather black pants and high healed combat boots, topped off with his - bondage police hat - on his head, hiding his curls just a bit. He looked quite pale under all that black leather, but never the less he looked good. He had a strong resemblance to his older twin, Alexiel. Him and her had the same eyes, his yellow, sweet like honey, hers dark brown, bitter like chocolate, the same facial structure, and it was hard to tell which one was more feminine. There only differences where Alexiel, being a actual woman, her massive curls a light brown, Rosiel, being a woman wannabe, only male, and his massive curls being a silver shade.

Rosiel snuck up behind an agitated Alexiel, and rapped his arms around her torso, snuggling up close behind her, he - very annoying and baby-like- sobbed into her long hair, whining her name, as if to make her feel guilt for being so cold. She took a deep breath before finally answering.

"Rosiel...Brother, I told you, No. You are my brother, you must remember that seeing how I refer to you as "Brother" and you refer to me as "Sister" so there, the answer is NO." She coldly and angrily spoke before evading her brother's embrace and stormed off into the garden.

Rosiel now completely frustrated, loosing his innocence, almost instantly forming the appearance of a spoiled little rich child, he fussed his way to his young Cherub, who was his one and only offspring...Katan. Still young and youthful, he looked up eagerly at his angered master Rosiel. Rosiel decided to take out his rage on - poor - Katan. With a slap to the side of the face from a very pissed off pathetic Rosiel, Katan flew about four feet back and two to the left. Rosiel whined.

"Its YOUR Fault...ingrate! Your useless waste of space is what made her turn ME down! Can you believe that! She flat out refused me! ARRRRRGGGGGGGG" Rosiel screamed as Katan hid on the ground, holding his cheek, silently sobbing, cowering like a beaten puppy, which is what he pretty much was. Rosiel stopped his bawling for a moment, looked down at Katan with remorse in his eyes and pity written all across his flawless face. He sighed. Dropping to the ground like a sack of potatoes, and rapping his arms around to hug Katan around the shoulders he sobbed. "...Oh, I'm so sorry Katan, did I hurt you? Its not your fault, I guess next time I am going to have to try harder to get her..." Katan was silent, when Rosiel got like this, Katan felt it was best not to speak at all. Rosiel loosened his grip on his baby angel and rose to his feet. Katan looked up anxiously. Rosiel was laughing, Katan didn't understand why. One minute the man' s screaming, the next he's crying like a baby, then he's giggling like a schoolgirl. Katan didn't know what to expect next, ...a parade?

"I know how to make her want me!" Rosiel schemed away out loud, making Katan curious.

"Jesus...I wonder what he plans to do now... maybe I should offer to help? Wait! If I do that he may get offended, but if I stay silent he'll think I'm not taking him serious...oh god why, why did my mentor have to be unstable and confusing!?"

Katan pondered until he made a decision. He spoke unsure of himself and a scared whimpering tone.

"Umm...Master Rosiel? May I Speak?" Katan politely...yet very pathetically questioned. Rosiel looked down at him, raising an eyebrow he sighed. "Katan, you already are speaking, you may continue..." that Katan did.

"Sir, is there anything I could help you with? Anything to help you win Alexiel? Or anything at all?" He wearily, yet hopefully asked his master. Katan knew Rosiel didn't respect him at all, and was barely even fond of him. Never taking the poor cherub seriously. Rosiel started to laugh hysterically, but his laugh rude and obnoxious.

"You? You help me? You help me with Alexiel? HA! Poor, poor Katan, as far as I am concerned, you'll only fuck things up with you incompetence! So no but you may prepare my bath," He laughed himself into a frenzy, and walked away from his dignity trampled offspring, leaving Katan alone so Rosiel' s cruel words could echo through his memory like a broken record.

...

"I remember those days back in heaven like a recently watched video. The times when Rosiel would use cheap and shameless schemes to try and win his sister's affection, when he would look down on me like a useless dog, not even showing the slightest interest in my personal being. How he was blind to see how his sister was not always even angry with him, but with she had always been angry, and he just annoyed her even more than she wanted to be. And now look at the current situation...heaven in chaos, Alexiel dead, her body imprisoned, and Rosiel even more obsessed with her then before, with mixed emotions of love, and hatred."

Katan spoke with a deep, miserable tone, not talking to anyone in particular, but speaking in case he would be heard. He closed his eyes and reminisced. He felt angry, sad, and homesick, none of those emotions making any sense to him. His thoughts suddenly interrupted by a demanding and needy call from Rosiel. Katan responded the only way that he knew how to, he rose, bowing his head down, and resting his bend right arm over his chest, with his hand placed over his heart. He waited to hear whatever order, demand, nag, or punishment Rosiel had in store for him.

"Katan!" Rosiel angrily screamed. His voice bossy, annoyance and frustration could be made clear through his tone. He came storming up, he walked with rage, towards his Katan, and nervously waiting ...the young offspring knew he was in shit. An electrocuting jolt flashed through his body, along with a slap to the face. Katan flew back, in complete pain, he could not move, he was paralyzed by pain, from Rosiel's power.

"Augggh" He groaned in severe agony. Rosiel was still angry. His eyes scrunched together, veins showing through his forehead, his teethe bared. "Katan! Explain yourself!" Katan stuttered as his brain flashed through his memory like the lightning bolt that just hit him, he honestly didn't know what he had done so bad. Katan kept thinking, all he could remember was he intruded on Rosiel when he was about to kill Sara, and extract Alexiel from Setsuna... but lately, that had been it. Rosiel growled at the lack of answers he was expecting Katan to come out with. So he spoke for Katan.

"Why the fuck didn't you tell me about Lucifer and Alexiel!?!?!?!?!" Katan now realized what he was in so much shit for. He sat up nervously and bowed on all fours. He, sweating like a pig, answered with fear, yet his deep calm voice remaining.

"...I wanted you to figure out yourself, and not from me...it wasn't any of my business sir..."

Rosiel was still angry, he was completely angered by Katan's answer, he created the tentacles from his body once again, wrapping one around Katan's neck, he raised the man off the ground and held him in mid air, strangling him at the neck. "None of your business! You could have at least had the decency to TELL ME!!!!!!" Rosiel was now screaming, squeezing the tentacle tightly around Katan's neck. Katan stiffening his neck as much as possible, making his body loose like a rag doll, hanging trying to keep conscious and alive. Finally able to find the energy to speak, he did so, hoping the words he was about to say would save his life, even if they were lies.

"S...Sir...I...I am so sorry, when I had found out, I was unsure if I was able to tell you...and then not too soon later,...you know... I'm so sorry, Lord Rosiel!" Katan was partially honest, but not one hundred percent. When speaking the words, he was literally choking on them, at the lack of air, and had made Rosiel realize he was killing his baby, his Katan, seeing Katan blue in the face, choking on lack of air. Rosiel was no longer angry, but heart broken and he released his angel from the tentacle. As Katan dropped to the ground nearly lifeless, his body loose, beaten up and pathetic, Rosiel forced the tentacle back into his body. Not showing any remorse for this, Rosiel simply, turned his back to Katan, replying a simple tone and emotionless "Oh..." before wandering away, still heart broken, but not showing it in the least.

Katan crouched on the ground and pondered a moment. Also trying to regain sight, and circulation through his neck, his body had somewhat regained stability, and was able to move again.

"So Rosiel has somehow discovered the secret affair of Alexiel and Lucifer, I wonder how..." Thinking quietly to himself he started to flash back in time, the day when he himself discovered about them.

~ Time Shift ~

The day had grown weary and the sun was almost finished setting, it left and red tone at the horizon, and a growing darker blue filling the rest of the sky. Heaven's clouds copying the image like a painting reflected in a mirror. Katan made his way into one of the gardens, he had just finished running Rosiel's bath, and preparing the spoiled angel's dinner, consisting of wine bottles and bread. Despite the fact Rosiel treated him with no affection, no respect and no gratitude, Katan had become fond of his master. Why he didn't understand, a normal angel, anyone could see Rosiel's selfishness and resent it. Katan felt it was just his master's way of hiding his emotions. He was forever loyal and grateful to Rosiel for being created, given life by him. And even though Rosiel clearly stated him having no faith in him at this matter, and nearly any matter, Katan intended to help him with Alexiel, he decided he would speak to her, for Rosiel.

As Katan made his way to her chambers, he prayed she wouldn't be in a bad mood, he was hoping she would be in the mood, not witnessed often, of by many. She was a very kind and happy woman when not aggravated for reasons unknown to Katan, and most other angels in heaven. He proceeded his way, nervous and shy, he had never really spoken to his masters' sister before. She was like an aunt, or a very respected family member, the kind that are not seen or spoken to, much. Once entering her front patio, decorated in vines and roses, other flowers spread endlessly along the garden, following tree's and bushes, he leaned in on one of the angel statues, cleared his throat, before calling her in a nervous, cautious voice.

"...Umm...Lady Alexiel?" He stammered, annoyed with himself for sounding so pitiful. As he saw her, stumble anxiously around the corner, dim candles lighting the rooms and corridor's, he bowed to his knee's, bending his right arm, placing his hand firmly on his chest above his heart, lowering his head in sign of respect. She confronted him, standing above his posture. She looked confused, she was panting, and she too looked nervous. Finally she spoke before Katan could.

"...Cherub Katan? Rise, you don't have to bow to me, you owe me no loyalty." Katan slowly rose to his feet, Alexiel continued.

"What is it you would like? Is there anything I could do for you?" She turned and urged Katan to follow her into the sitting room. He followed, deeply thankful at how pleasant she acted towards him, she was so kind and generous.

"Umm, I came here to speak to you, Lady Alexiel." She turned and looked at him nervously, unsure, yet slightly sure what Katan meant. She answered quickly, Katan was hardly finished his purpose.

"It's about my Brother isn't it?" Katan shyly nodded his head as a reassuring 'yes'. Alexiel now looked sad, her big kind eyes drooping down, "Did he send you?"

"No, I came on my own." Katan quickly added. Alexiel proceeded to sit in a chair, her gesture quick, causing her huge locks of brown curls to fly in the movement. She then urged Katan to sit as well. With a chuckle Katan added once again. "Actually he didn't want me to speak to you, he thinks I am incompetent, and useless, and that I would sabotage his chances with you." Alexiel sadly smiled with pity. She knew how Rosiel treated his baby, he treated his offspring like a slave, that's not what reproduction was meant for, and it made her feel pity for Katan, who knew no better. She spoke to Katan with weary words.

"My Brother is...unstable, he will never admit or see it from any other way then his own fantasizing reality, but its true that he needs someone to take care of him. That someone must be you Katan...he thinks he needs me, but I can no longer be his mother, I am only his sister. Its time he moved on." Katan was shaken, he couldn't comprehend what she meant, his whole life as an angel he has been treated like a useless child, weak and depending. Before he could protest Alexiel continued.

"You are stronger then you and Rosiel let on, I think it's time at least you recognized it. Rosiel will, soon enough...grow fond of you...but it may take time and patience." Katan was still speechless, he was unsure of what to say or think, this is almost the first time in his whole life in heaven he had been spoken to with kind, respecting words. He coughed, involuntarily, before speaking.

"Lady Alexiel...umm Lord Rosiel, from what I can understand, he really wishes for your affection...if you don't mind, seeing how Rosiel never tells me anything rather then how useless I am, or powerless I will become, tell me what exactly he wants from you."

Alexiel shifted her crossed legs, she grew uncomfortable with that question, but decided it was alright for Katan to know. "Well, Katan you see...Rosiel is obsessed with me in a very un-natural way...he wishes for him and I, to..."

She was trying to think of a way of telling Katan without hurting him, Katan was loyal to Rosiel like a puppy, he loved him unconditionally, and she was scared she would break his heart. Finally able to think of the right words, she finished.

"Rosiel wants him and I, to reproduce another life, he wants to possess an Angel created from our blood." Katan finally understood, making him miserable, and heart broken despite the fact that Alexiel tried not to hurt him. Katan knew Rosiel thought nothing of him, he treated him like shit, and it was now understood, he loved his sister, wanted her, and wanted to create another life... with her, the natural way.

"I'm sorry Katan..." Alexiel felt remorseful from telling Katan, she saw the pain it caused. But Katan was able to take it, amazingly, it didn't surprise him at all.

She continued. "But I have refused him time after time, he is starting to frighten me, all he wants these days is me, he forgets I am his sister. Not to mention, I've been watching how he treats you, I am not about to let him treat any other angels like that. I am hopeful he, soon enough will show you kindness, and love, but with Rosiel, things take time." Katan understood Alexiel's point. He found his anger could not be suppressed though. And he wasn't even sure whom he was angry at.

Alexiel was now, nervous. She questioned Katan.

"Katan, does he know?" He voice shaky and dreadful.

"What does she mean, "does he know?" does Rosiel know what?"

Katan shook his head in confusion. "Does he know what?"

Alexiel stood up, unsure of what to say.

"Never mind, its better if you don't know either." She walked towards one of the corridors, she turned to Katan with pity in her eyes, "Katan, one day, he will love you as well." She concluded wearily as she left Katan alone in the room.

He then decided to leave...wandering aimlessly through garden after garden, until he could hear the familiar sound of Rosiel's calls, echoing through the chambers Rosiel and Katan lived in.

"Kataaaaaaaaaaan!"

...

Alexiel made her way silently through the gardens of heaven, not wanting to attract attention. It was late at night, most angels in this region were in their chambers or sleeping. She took the most direct route. Once away from all the chambers and at uncharted territory gardens, she sprout her wings from her back, they glow of white ambience, loose feathers fly through the wind around her, she then jumped off the ground and let her wings flap her into mid air. Once airborne she worked her wings fast and soon enough took off into the sky.

The midnight darkness was calming and cold, the cool air touched her skin nicely, once far away from heaven's view, she dropped into the clouds, falling, wings limp, and her body stiff. She fell thousands of feet through the sky, now able to see the view of Earth's landforms, high in the sky, she could see sky scrappers just miles under her reach, cities and oceans. Closing her eyes to enjoy the blissful over powering wind that pounded into her face. Her body falling closer and closer to a near by sky scrapper, she allowed her wings to become stiff, making her once falling body float, gliding her to the near by building. She landed gracefully on her feet, pushing her wings back, to hide them a bit, again they hung limp and loose.

After looking around for any human life, she wandered around the roof, before calling.

"Are you here?" Within moments of silence she heard the deep and calming voice of Lucifer, standing closely behind her, "Indeed, I would never miss an opportunity to see you my love."
